Connecticut Girls Hockey League - Welcome!

Welcome!

Formed in 2005, the CGHL is Connecticut’s 1st (and only) youth hockey league devoted exclusively to girls!  Our league’s teams reside at CGHL member programs throughout Connecticut and near our neighboring states’ borders.

The CGHL’s dedicated volunteers bring girls of all ages great opportunities to try and to grow with hockey on all girls’ teams.  Whether a complete beginner or a seasoned veteran, chances are there's a local CGHL member Program close by that has a spot for you!  CGHL values development, fun, effort, teamwork and excellence.  We love hockey for the greater confidence, resilience, determination and strength it helps develop!

Since our beginning, we have been proud that so many of the local Programs that make up the CGHL spectacularly demonstrate values articulated by the Positive Coaching Alliance and USA Hockey’s American Development Model (“ADM”).

The CGHL is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a

Non-profit 501(c)(3) tax exempt charitable organization.

Julie Chu Clinic @ JUL 22-25, Wonderland of Ice 2019

Hi all,

I wanted to share a great opportunity to attend a very special Summer hockey camp.  Professional Player and Repeat Olympian / Team USA Captain, Julie Chu, will offer a Camp again this Summer at at Wonderland of Ice, Bridgeport, CT.

For those who may be unfamiliar with Julie, she’s a Connecticut native who grew up in Fairfield/Bridgeport, played for Choate and Harvard University, won the Patty Kazmaier Award (best female collegiate hockey player) and helped Team USA win World Championships and successive medals at the Olympics  (in '02, '06, '10 and ’14).  She also plays professionally and has been a repeat all-star!

It's so important for all athletes to connect with inspiring role models / heroes and Julie Chu is a great one!  Julie is widely respected for not only being a phenomenal player, but also an inspiring leader!

In addition to her on-ice sessions, Julie offers motivational chalk talks which get incredibly high reviews!  My daughters were able to attend her summer camp and they absolutely loved it!
